Subject [jira] [Updated] (HIVE-21022) Fix remote metastore tests which use ZooKeeper
Date Wed, 12 Dec 2018 10:14:00 GMT

Ashutosh Bapat updated HIVE-21022:
    Attachment: HIVE-21022.04
Status: Patch Available (was: In Progress)

In the last ptest run, .TestRemoteHiveMetaStoreZKBindHost failed since it got metastore server
URI as an empty list. This can happen if the list of servers was requested before metastore
server got a chance to add its URI to root name space on ZooKeeper but after it added the
root name space. Fixed that race by retrying till we get expected metastore uri.

> Per [~vgarg]'s comment on HIVE-20794 at, the
remote metatstore tests using ZooKeeper are flaky. They are failing with error "Got exception:
org.apache.zookeeper.KeeperException$NoNodeException KeeperErrorCode = NoNode for /hs2mszktest".
> Both of these tests are using the same root namespace and hence the reason for this failure
could be that the root namespace becomes unavailable to one test when the other drops it.
The drop seems to be happening automatically through TestingServer code.
