Date Tue, 27 Jan 2015 01:17:34 GMT

]

Aihua Xu updated HIVE-9474:
---------------------------
    Description:
Create a table test(a string);

Change the /user/hive/warehouse/test.db/test permission to something else other than the
default, like 777.

Then truncate table test;

The permission goes back to the default.

  was:
I created a test table in beeline : create table test(a string);

Permissions:

# file: /user/hive/warehouse/test.db/test
# owner: aryan
# group: hive
user::rwx
group::rwx
other::--x

Now, in beeline : truncate table test;

Permissions are now :
# file: /user/hive/warehouse/test.db/test
# owner: aryan
# group: hive
user::rwx
group::r-x
other::r-x

Group write permissions have disappeared!
