Yes, it looks like our input formats are stateful. We're set up to specify a config object
and that's closed over to provide custom record readers, based on which mapred API is being
implemented.

In HS2, this assumes that InputFormats are stateless but I don't think this assumption is
true, especially with regards to HBase.
