Subject [jira] [Commented] (HIVE-6541) Need to write documentation for ACID work
Date Fri, 07 Mar 2014 21:59:43 GMT

Lefty Leverenz commented on HIVE-6541:

All docs are on the wiki, diverging further & further from the files converted in 2012.

This might belong in the User Docs section on the wiki's home page, or in the Language Manual.
Or both can link to the same doc for maximum visibility.

After you've created the ACID wikidoc, I can change the DDL and Configuration docs (with links
and version notes, of course). What else? The Locks doc will need a link and maybe a small
section. Possibly the ORC doc. Others might occur to me as I review your new draft. Will
Streaming Ingest need a link from the Admin docs?

> ACID introduces a number of new config file options, tables in the metastore, keywords
in the grammar, and a new interface for use of tools like storm and flume. These need to
be documented.
