Subject [jira] [Commented] (HIVE-6048) Hive load data command rejects file with '+' in the name
Date Sat, 21 Dec 2013 00:14:09 GMT

Hari Sankar Sivarama Subramaniyan commented on HIVE-6048:

[~xuefuz] Changing from string to URI for local file systems may not be the best options when
the framework is designed to be OS independent. e.g. on Windows OS(which uses a blackslash
naming convention). How does the patch ensure that this would work on OSes which do not use
a forward slash as the file separator.

> '+' is a valid character in a file name on linux and HDFS. However, loading data from
such a file into table results the following error:
> {code}
> hive> load data local inpath '/home/xzhang/temp/t+est.txt' into table test;
> Copying data from file:/home/xzhang/temp/t est.txt
> No files matching path: file:/home/xzhang/temp/t est.txt
> FAILED: Execution Error, return code 3 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.CopyTask
> {code}
