Subject [jira] [Commented] (HIVE-4591) Making changes to webhcat-site.xml have no effect
Date Wed, 29 May 2013 22:52:20 GMT

Alan Gates commented on HIVE-4591:

The work around for this is to set WEBHCAT_CONF_DIR. Two things should be done to fix this

# Make WEBHCAT_CONF_DIR have a default value that matches the directory structure of our release
# Document the use of WEBHCAT_CONF_DIR in the docs.

> Looks like WebHCat configuration is read as follows:
> Configuration: core-default.xml, core-site.xml, mapred-default.xml, mapred-site.xml,
> creating /Users/ekoifman/dev/hive/build/dist/hcatalog/etc/webhcat/webhcat-site.xml and
setting templeton.exec.timeout has no effect as can be seen in ExecServiceImpl
> Probably the script is missing something
