Subject [jira] [Commented] (HIVE-3054) Simple reconnection support for JDBC
Date Tue, 28 May 2013 08:30:21 GMT

Navis commented on HIVE-3054:

HiveServer2 keeps session/operations in spite of connection failure. No special protocol change
is not needed for session recovery If connection can be re-established. But for hiveserver1,
it's not possible without some modifications.

> Somehow when hive server is down, JDBC connections should be re-established by hand and
it's not clean to implement on the outside of JDBC code.
> Session recovery could be also implemented if HiveServer2(HIVE-2935) is ready.
