Subject [jira] Commented: (HIVE-1644) use filter pushdown for automatically accessing indexes

John Sichi commented on HIVE-1644:
----------------------------------

The test is failing because you forgot to add

SET hive.input.format=org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.io.HiveInputFormat;

before running the autoindex portion.

The ParseContext change looks OK to me if no one else comes up with anything better during
review.

I think what Yongqiang's combinehiveinputformat comment meant was that you should run the
autoindex portion twice; once with

SET hive.input.format=org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.io.HiveInputFormat;

and again with

SET hive.input.format=org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.io.CombineHiveInputFormat;

to verify that both work as expected.

> HIVE-1226 provides utilities for analyzing filters which have been pushed down to a table
scan. The next step is to use these for selecting available indexes and generating access
plans for those indexes.
