Subject [jira] Commented: (HIVE-701) lots of reserved keywords in hive
Date Tue, 28 Jul 2009 20:18:14 GMT

Namit Jain commented on HIVE-701:

That's right -

mysql> create table `tst2`(`table` int);
ERROR 1050 (42S01): Table 'tst2' already exists
mysql> create table `create`(`table` int);
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.05 sec)

However, that is not good enough for hive - where a lot of the keywords which we might want
to reserve in the future are already being used by applications

and some applications already use status as a column name, they should not break
