What's the point in implementing something that the applicable spec says "MUST NOT"? As far
as I can tell, that spec defines a different approach which is supposed to be what at least
some user agents already do.

(And yes, it's entirely possible that the spec is incorrect, in which case proper tests and
reporting the problem to the IETF would be the right answer)

(Also, RFC 6532 seems to be entirely irrelevant in this context)
