[~michael-o] I am not sure what kind of resolution you expect. You have been asked to back
your proposal with something other than your personal preferences but you refused. I do not
necessarily agree with [~garydgregory] but at the very least he was willing to put effort
into it and I respect that.

This sounds like a problem with the SLF4J adapter and not the Log4j 2 API per se.
