Subject [REPORT] HttpComponents

Report from the Apache HttpComponents Project

## Description:
  - The Apache HttpComponents project is responsible for creating and
    maintaining a toolset of low-level Java components focused on HTTP and
    associated protocols

## Issues:
  - There are no issues requiring board attention at this time

## Activity:
  - We are currently working on adding support for HTTP/2 protocol to 
    and HttpClient.

## Health report:
  - Overall the project remains active. Although established in late 2007
    the project remains stable and active as seen by JIRA and Emails.

## PMC changes:
  - Currently 9 PMC members.
  - No new PMC members added in the last 3 months
  - Last PMC addition was Michael Osipov on Mon Aug 24 2015

## Committer base changes:
  - Currently 18 committers.
  - New commmitters:
     - Dmitry Potapov was added as a committer on Mon Sep 05 2016
     - Julian Sedding was added as a committer on Fri Sep 30 2016

## Releases:
  - Last release was HttpAsyncClient 4.1.2 GA on Mon Jun 27 2016

## JIRA activity:
  - 37 JIRA tickets created in the last 3 months
  - 38 JIRA tickets closed/resolved in the last 3 months


Replies to the board on the feedback provided on 2016-08-17


I am not sure what the board means in the comment of 8/17 below, when 
the board requested for this information
from reporter.apache.org in its feedback on 5/18. Also 
reporter.apache.org presents this information to be used as
the "Report template".

gs: the bulk of this report is a cut/paste from reporter.a.o :-( ...
     with hundreds of emails on the dev@ list, how can there be no
     new committers and so little information about the community?

mh: Please supply dates for when the last committer was elected and
     the last PMC member was elected. You can get that information
     from reporter.apache.org.
