it is possible a similar problem.
the problem arises in that code, as I have given above.
This code basis of https://bitbucket.org/atlassianlabs/httpclienttest

in some other atlassian products arises as a problem with the SNI. It has already set up their
issue. 
but in this case, the problem is in the apache httpclient

if you want, I can do a detailed analysis with the example on my nginx server with a list
of all the commands for checking
