Joe Gamache commented on HTTPCLIENT-1617:
-----------------------------------------

Sorry, I seem to be slightly clueless here. I don't think I want anything different that
standard Proxy 101 support. What I picture in my head is any of the options dialogs supporting
configuration of a Proxy Server for a Browser... Define, 'yes, I use a Proxy Server, this
is it's definition: name etc. By the way, don't proxy this list of machines....'

So, if you are asking do I do:
{code}
            HttpHost proxy = new HttpHost(settings.getHost(), settings.getPort(), settings.getScheme());

            httpClientBuilder.setProxy(proxy);
{code}

Then yes, that is what I do, but only because isn't that what I am supposed to do when I actually
have a Proxy Server? Or it seems like you are suggesting that I leave that null, call the
useSystemProperties method and the httpClientBuilder will take care of everything for me???
  Ok, totally clueless here!

> The header documentation for HttpClientBuilder.java (in pkg: org.apache.http.impl.client)
states that when the 'useSystemProperties()' method is invoked that system settings for http.nonProxyHosts
will be honored. However, the code never references that Property, nor does it seem that
any invoked code references that property. In testing, when that property has been set, http
calls still go through the Proxy.
> Please fix so that when the property is set, http calls to one of the listed hosts does
not pass through the Proxy Server.
