That's strange. I moved clone() verbatim up into the parent class AbortableHttpRequestBase,
accompanying all the member variables that clone() cares about. Does HttpRequestBase need
 

    protected Object clone() { 
        return super.clone() 
    }

to make "clirr" happy?
