Subject [jira] [Resolved] (HTTPCLIENT-1217) AutoRetryHttpClient does not release connection on retries
Date Sun, 22 Jul 2012 19:49:34 GMT

Oleg Kalnichevski resolved HTTPCLIENT-1217.

    Resolution: Fixed

Fix committed to SVN trunk and 4.2.x branch.

@Eric: Please review / re-test

@Alin: I do not think so. The class simply made no attempt to release connection at all when
request is retried. The code in question was contributed by an external contributor and I
made a lousy job reviewing it.

>             Fix For: 4.2.2
> In this method of AutoRetryHttpClient:
> execute(HttpHost target, HttpRequest request, HttpContext context)
> the backend creates a new HttpResponse object on each retry attempt, but
> the response entity is not consumed, leading to connections that are never closed.
