Subject [jira] [Created] (HTTPCLIENT-1191) Add support for the PATCH method for HTTP
Date Tue, 15 May 2012 19:39:06 GMT
Rossen Stoyanchev created HTTPCLIENT-1191:

Summary: Add support for the PATCH method for HTTP
                 Key: HTTPCLIENT-1191
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HTTPCLIENT-1191
             Project: HttpComponents HttpClient
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: HttpClient
    Affects Versions: 4.1.3
            Reporter: Rossen Stoyanchev

RFC 5789 defines the PATCH method for HTTP (see http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5789) for partial
updates. Although not very commonly used yet it's definitely present in some APIs, for example
GitHub's API v3 (see http://developer.github.com/v3/#http-verbs) or YouTube API v2 (see https://developers.google.com/youtube/2.0/developers_guide_protocol_partial_updates).
