Let us try to get things sorted out incrementally through a series of smaller patches. Would
you agree to committing these changes (see the patch attached)?
Changelog:
(1) HttpRequestExecutor no longer attempts to re-open the connection in case of an I/O failure
(2) No more request retry code in HttpRequestExecutor
(3) No more HttpProxyConnection interface
