Folks,
HttpClient 3.0 is not particularly great for applications that need to "eat crap
and pooh". It occasionally chokes on some particularly smelly specimens. I do
not see this as a problem as HttpClient cannot be expected to work with every
single broken CGI script out there. The REAL problem is that the present
architecture is not always flexible enough to allow some custom code be plugged
into the existing framework to make HttpClient more lenient toward some
particular violation of the protocol. Unfortunately, there are couple of areas
where it is simply not possible, the URI class being one. Another example is Bug
#25468. We are well aware of the problem but we cannot address it without
breaking the 3.0 API.

If any of you feels adventurous and can afford the use of pre-alpha code in your
project(s), consider taking a look at the 4.0 code

Oleg
