Okay gentlemen.  You are essentially both correct.  HttpClient currently works
for this case (i.e. does not loop forever and warns the user) however the
behavior is sub-optimal.  

Let us revisit this in 2.1 where it may make some sense to detect circular
redirects.  Case closed for now?
