This came to my mind this morning on the train as well. I knew there was 
somebody (you) out there that does not use the provided HttpClient.

That is the logical consequence. The HttpMethod interface could be 
changed slightly from HttpMethod.execute(HttpState, HttpConnection) -> 
HttpMethod.execute(IHttpClient, HttpConnection) or even
