I found that those command are deprecated as per this Jira:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-8861

Still, after enabling peers the replication is not starting. We looked into
zk. Its peer state value is null/blank:
zknode:  ls /hbase-unsecure/replication/peers/prod-hbase/peer-state
[]

Can anyone tell me what is probably going on?
