I assume you were referring to 0.96+

The 3 methods you mentioned belong to HBaseAdmin

Please take a look
at hbase-thrift/src/test/java/org/apache/hadoop/hbase/thrift2/TestThriftHBaseServiceHandler.java
where you can find examples for table creation, etc.
