Here is my output:-

hadoop fs -ls /

Can someone explain why this command does not return anything at all:-

oracle@misa:~/hbase-0.90.5/bin$ hadoop fs -ls /user/oracle/hbase/
oracle@misa:~/hbase-0.90.5/bin$


So with this I conclude that I have a successful Hadoop , HDFS installation.

Excellent. Now to put more machines on my cluster.
