My ruby code looks like this :
................
client = HBase::Client.new("http://10.33.100.117:8080")
row = client.show_row('userstable', '20091213093540') ..............

I have 'userstable ' in Hbase with "'20091213093540'" as a row key. I am not calling "/api/userstable/row/20091213093540"
 anywhere.

Not a REST expert, but don't you have too many arguments? I guess you are looking for table
userstable, but you put a "api" in front, why?
