Subject fb hadoop-append version.
Date Mon, 10 Jan 2011 20:54:27 GMT
Hello, I was wondering if anyone have tried FB's hadoop-append
highavailability contrib yet. We got it running underneath our
0.89x924 hbase version here. I realize that FB contrib uses zookeeper
quorum to keep tabs on avatarnode's health. Question is, can we use
same zookeepers that we use for HBase? Also, should avatarnodes
switch (during failure), how does HBASE would know that avatarnodes
have switches? Also, does anyone have a sampe config on how to start
avatarnodes?

Also, getting this issue with not finding right classes:

$ bin/hadoop-daemon.sh --config conf/. start
org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.AvatarNode -zero
starting org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.AvatarNode, logging to
/usr/lib/hadoop-0.20-fb-append/bin/../logs/hadoop-root-org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.AvatarNode-mtag11.prod.imageshack.com.out

Could not find the main class:

My class path, is set as followed:

export HADOOP_CLASSPATH=/usr/lib/hadoop-0.20-fb-append/lib:${HADOOP_CLASSPATH}
export HADOOP_CLASSPATH=/usr/lib/hadoop-0.20-fb-append/build/ivy/lib/highavailability/common:${HADOOP_CLASSPATH}

Thanks.
