Sorry I didn't make that clear.  I meant HBase version 0.20.1.  It may be
easier for me to try 0.19.3 for now, since they split up hadoop-site.xml
file.  

Is the version you have listed here the same as : 
http://people.apache.org/~stack/hbase-0.19.3-candidate-1/
