Chia-Ping Tsai commented on HBASE-18751:
----------------------------------------

I wish to clarify the relation between TimeRange and TimeRangeTracker.
# TimeRange can be an interface with read-only APIs.
# TimeRangeTracker inherits TimeRange
# TimeRangeTracker can be extended to two impl - sync and unsync

Also, they should be used in the right place.
# TimeRange is used on the read-path
# sync TimeRangeTracker serves the memstore (thread-safe)
# unsync TimeRangeTracker works for the flush.

Certainly, we have to throw the Writable away.
