Above sounds good. What is the wire-compatible function for reading? We seem to be just reading
the TableName bytes array, etc., in Permission/TablePermission. Do you mean writing out with
the PB MAGIC four bytes and if not there, then we read it as old fashion Writable?

The MetaWriter is used in one place only, doing CompoundBloomFilterWriter. Could do same trick?
