Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-16993) BucketCache throw java.io.IOException: Invalid HFile block magic when DATA_BLOCK_ENCODING set to DIFF

Anoop Sam John commented on HBASE-16993:
----------------------------------------

Yes.
The wastage concern was more like block size is say 46KB but the default setting have block
size of 49 means 3 KB per block waste. But the initial config can be tuned. We allow that.
One can make this to have a 46KB bucket size. That is absolutely fine. The issue is the block
(bucket ) size can NOT have any value which is NOT a multiple of 256. I think the reporter
also not specifically want this. I feel 256 multiple requirement is very much fine. We dont
clearly document this. We should add that in the config description. Also the code should
check this and early fail if not acceptable size value.
