Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-16417) In-Memory MemStore Policy for Flattening and Compactions
Date Wed, 01 Mar 2017 04:12:45 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-16417?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15889466#comment-15889466

Duo Zhang commented on HBASE-16417:

KeyValue has extra fields other than value, such as the rowkey, family, qualifier and timestamp
etc. So a larger size for WAL is expected. You can increase the value size to see if it is
still 2 times larger. The overhead should be a fixed value if you only change the value size.

And it is not expected to have a small WAL size for AsyncFSWAL. There must be something wrong.
Need check it. Need a UT to reproduce it first I think.
