Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-15691) Port HBASE-10205 (ConcurrentModificationException in BucketAllocator) to branch-1
Date Thu, 28 Apr 2016 20:31:12 GMT

Andrew Purtell commented on HBASE-15691:

bq. Is there a reason why we are changing back to linked lists?

The reason is this patch was applied to only master and 0.98, leaving a discontinuity in history
and the code base. If someone who knows more about the block cache ([~stack] ?) tells me
"it doesn't matter" than fine.

bq. I am still seeing LinkedMaps on the master, moving back to linkedLists will probably undo
the optimizations done in HBASE-14624.

This is a backport issue so we could make another version of the patch that includes the changes
in HBASE-14624.

> Affects Versions: 1.3.0

> HBASE-10205 was committed to trunk and 0.98 branches only. To preserve continuity we
should commit it to branch-1. The change requires more than nontrivial fixups so I will attach
a backport of the change from trunk to current branch-1 here.
