Enis Soztutar commented on HBASE-15614:
---------------------------------------

Yes please. I was thinking about this as well. We need how many times we paused and for how
long according to the JVM pause monitor.

We have seen a couple of cases where the OS pauses the process for ~10-30 seconds, and GC
logs or GC metrics do not show any activity. OS can pause the process for various reasons
swap, or bad disk drivers.

> We have {{JvmPauseMonitor}} for detecting JVM pauses; pauses are logged at WARN. Would
also be good to expose this information on a dashboard via metrics system -- make it easier
to get this info off the host and into a central location for the operator.
