Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-15264) Implement a fan out HDFS OutputStream
Date Fri, 19 Feb 2016 17:08:18 GMT

stack commented on HBASE-15264:

So, WAL goes bad, we abandon it and replay unacked edits into new file.

bq. ....if we failed to close the WAL file current being written , it is likely that we are
considered dead on master.

So, we should not be writing a new file that is subsequent to the WAL that broke and that
we cannot reach anymore? If we 'lose' a WAL -- can't write it or close it -- then we should
not start a new one?
