Example hbase-site.xml for Standalone HBase The config example here do not specify a port for the region server. So When you go to the 2.4 Advanced - Fully Distributed (http://hbase.apache.org/book.html#quickstart_fully_distributed). You will hit error. Because the region server will conflict with backup master or master. As they use the same port.
