Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-14144) Bloomfilter path to work with Byte buffered cells
Date Fri, 14 Aug 2015 04:42:46 GMT

ramkrishna.s.vasudevan commented on HBASE-14144:

bq.FakeByteBufferedCell is not fake either. It is also real. If it is anything, it is abstract.
IMHO, the components of the cell are real, but the type of the cell is fake. We don't have
actual cells with MAX or MIN type. It is not going to be even written to files or returned
back as a cell to clients.
If we name it as AbstractBytebufferedcell, then it would mean we need to derive cells out
of it, I think? Also we already have a Fakecell backed by byte[]. So 'Fake' term is correct
is what I think.

> This JIRA is to check if there will be a need to make the bloom filters to work with
ByteBuffer cells. During POC this path created lot of duplicated code but considering other
refactorings done in this path may lead to less duplication. This JIRA is a placeholder.
