Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-14084) Observe some out-of-date doc on "Integration Tests" part
Date Thu, 16 Jul 2015 16:16:05 GMT

Dima Spivak commented on HBASE-14084:

[~carp84], why can't the existing ChaosMonkey be used during bulkload? IntegrationTestBulkload
does exactly that, no? Either way, might not be worth the effort to reinvent the wheel when
all we need with the ChaosMonkey tool is to reintroduce the main() that was removed during
a previous refactoring effort.

> --------------------------------------------------------
> Key: HBASE-14084
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-14084
> Project: HBase
> Issue Type: Task
> Components: documentation
> Affects Versions: 1.1.0
> Reporter: Yu Li
> As titled, have checked src/main/asciidoc/_chapters/developer.adoc and confirmed some
out-of-date part, such as the doc still refers to org.apache.hadoop.hbase.util.ChaosMonkey
which doesn't exist anymore
> On the other hand, I think "run ITBLL against distributed cluster" is a really good way
to do real-world integration/system testing, but existing document about this is not explicit
enough. Actually it costs me quite a while to setup the env and make the testing run smoothly
(encountered issues like always launching minicluster if run with bin/hbase script, finally
got it run using bin/hadoop script, etc.)
