Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-13149) HBase server MR tools are broken on Hadoop 2.5+ Yarn

Sean Busbey commented on HBASE-13149:
-------------------------------------

The Java API compliance checker that we use for our own checks (dev-support/check_compatibility.sh)
also has a mode where you just feed it jars to check compatibility. Could we trust-but-verify
the jackson versioning?

That won't help in cases where downstream folks put jackson 1.8 in our classpath once we start
relying on methods that are only in 1.9, but it would give me more confidence that we won't
break common use.

> The problem seems to be the jackson jar version. HADOOP-10104 updated jackson version
to 1.9.13. YARN-2092 reported a problem as well.
> HBase is using jackson 1.8.8. This version of the jar in the classpath seem to cause
the problem.
> Should we upgrade to jackson 1.9.13?
