My first POC patch at HBASE-8763 does the reorder. I believe the approach over there is still
viable. However, I was not able to do a proper perf analysis of the approach though. Jeff
took over the patch to not change the ordering (which is a bigger change definitely). After
the disruptor, we had to do the mock-append as a workaround.
