Subject [jira] [Updated] (HBASE-12736) Let MetaScanner recycle a given Connection
Date Sat, 20 Dec 2014 20:53:13 GMT

Jurriaan Mous updated HBASE-12736:
----------------------------------
    Attachment: HBASE-12736-v2.patch

- Removed configuration parameter. (Seems it was a managable change and is indeed cleaner)

- MetaScanner now must have a connection and will not make a new connection when null is passed.
(All null passes were fixed in previous commit)
- Close connections which were opened manually. (oops) Those fetched from mini cluster are
closed by shutdown of that mini cluster.
- Undid * combining of imports. (Changed IDE setting for HBase to prevent it in future)

> It is very heavy to create a Connection on each meta scan. Connections create RpcClients,
RpcClients create RPC connections and all cannot be recycled.
> Tests with a lot of metascans are very heavy with the async client.
> This issue is to make anything that uses metaScans reuse the same connection.
