Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-11933) Table level VisibilityLabelService
Date Wed, 10 Sep 2014 22:50:34 GMT

Andrew Purtell commented on HBASE-11933:

I was also thinking at the namespace level would be better. Labels seem like something you
would define for a tenant, which would either have a cluster at global scope or would be sharing
a cluster with namespaces (at least this is how namespaces are envisioned to support multi-tenancy)

> Table level VisibilityLabelService
> ----------------------------------
> Key: HBASE-11933
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-11933
> Project: HBase
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: security
> Affects Versions: 0.98.5
> Reporter: Anoop Sam John
> Assignee: Anoop Sam John
> HBASE-11553 added pluggable VisibilityLabelService, an abstraction layer for visibility
services (add labels, set_auths , creation of visibility cell tags etc). This can be only
cluster level single config now.
> Suggest we can enhance it to make it table level. (Might be useful in a multi-tenant
scenario (?))
