Agree. This case does justify the un-deprecation. 
One issue currently with the processBatch() API is that one has to separately pass a pool.
If I want to use it, I would have to duplicate the logic of HconnectionManager.getBatchPool().
I think we should have an additional processBatch API which takes care of that. Should we
have a JIRA to discuss all this?
