Subject [jira] [Updated] (HBASE-10414) Distributed replay should re-encode WAL entries with its own RPC codec
Date Tue, 22 Jul 2014 16:50:39 GMT

]

Andrew Purtell updated HBASE-10414:
-----------------------------------

    Affects Version/s:     (was: 0.99.0)
        Fix Version/s:     (was: 0.98.5)
             Assignee:     (was: ramkrishna.s.vasudevan)

There doesn't seem sufficient motivation to do this work now. Scheduling for > 0.98. If
a patch shows up, by all means consider targeting the latest 0.98 SNAPSHOT

> HBASE-10412 allows distributed replay to send WAL entries with tags intact between RegionServers
by substituting a WALCodec directly for the RPC codec. We should instead have distributed
replay handle WAL entries including tags with its own tag-aware RPC codec and drop the direct
use of WALCodecs for that purpose.
