Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-11079) Normalize test tools across branches
Date Fri, 25 Apr 2014 21:51:18 GMT

Andrew Purtell commented on HBASE-11079:

Was thinking along those lines. A one shot sync. Might be worth as a dev process pasting-over
from trunk to 0.98, fixing up, then pasting-over from 0.98 to 0.96, fixing up, then pasting-over
from 0.96 to 0.94. The outcome would be six patches, one for each branch for each tool (and
helper classes), for independent review and commit. It would be a fair amount of work but
I'd be interested in doing it and then some drag racing among the branches on the same test

> Normalize test tools across branches
> ------------------------------------
> Key: HBASE-11079
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-11079
> Project: HBase
> Issue Type: Umbrella
> Reporter: Andrew Purtell
> Will be a challenge wherever the branches vary functionally, but it would be good to
normalize the test tools (LoadTestTool and PerformanceEvaluation) as much as possible among
the active branches so we can compare them.
