Jonathan Hsieh commented on HBASE-9579:
---------------------------------------

Oops, that was the wrong command to list the publics (the previous command counted all java
source files that weren't public)

{code}
; need lower case -l.
grep -R -l InterfaceAudience.Public ....
{code}

hbase-server 97
hbase-hadoop-compat 0
hbase-hadoop1-compat 1 // ?!
hbase-hadoop2-compat 0
hbase-prefix-tree 1 // an enum
hbase-protocol 0

> Similar to HBASE-9495 we should audit the hbase-hadoop*-compat, hbase-prefix-tree, hbase-protocol
and hbase server-modules.
> I'll go through each module first making most things private, and then do a second pass
using some sort of LimitedPrivate marking for apis that we'd expect coprocs or advanced tests
to use.
> This is less urgent that the work for the client facing apis.
