Ok.  You cite others than hbase internals that make Results.  Lets not break them.

What if this was public:

+  private Result(Cell[] cells) {

...then you could remove one of the newResult calls.  They ugly.

We can come along after and add Jon's useful sounding annotations.

Then I'd be +1.  What about you [~jmhsieh]?
