Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-9301) Default hbase.dynamic.jars.dir to hbase.rootdir/jars
Date Thu, 05 Sep 2013 22:17:53 GMT

Nick Dimiduk commented on HBASE-9301:

lib vs .lib sounds like one more thing to add to the migration script. Is there not a solution
with is compatible across releases? Since this is something we expect users to interact with,
it's a de facto API.

Dare I ask about the complexity of making rootdir/lib a "special" directory in 0.94?

> A reasonable default for hbase.dynamic.jars.dir would be hbase.rootdir/jars so that folks
aren't forced to edit their hbase-sites.xml to take advantage of the new, cool feature to
load coprocessor/custom filter jars out of HDFS.
