Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-8949) hbase.mapreduce.hfileoutputformat.blocksize should configure with blocksize of a table
Date Fri, 02 Aug 2013 06:15:49 GMT

Lars Hofhansl commented on HBASE-8949:

Looks good to me. It makes little sense to force a block size, when the next time the data
in this HFile is compacted it'll be rewritten with the new block size (same way it does not
make to set a bloom filter to any but the configuration set in the table).

+1 from me. Need to add release notes if this goes into 0.94.

> While initializing mapreduce job we are not configuring hbase.mapreduce.hfileoutputformat.blocksize,
so hfiles are always creating with 64kb (default)block size even though tables has different
block size.
> We need to configure it with block size from table descriptor.
