if the snapshot doesn't contain referred file, the table is not supposed to work after the
restore. I guess it works just because it uses directly the reference-link logic skipping
the referredParent+link path.

Could you add a unit test for this? mocking the fs state as done in TestRestoreSnapshotHelper.createSnapshot()
should be good enough.
