Subject [jira] [Commented] (HBASE-8226) HBaseTestingUtility#waitUntilAllRegionsAssigned won't return if it counts "too many" regions
Date Fri, 29 Mar 2013 22:13:15 GMT

Andrew Purtell commented on HBASE-8226:

No more counting. Use a Predicate for trunk/0.95. Update tests to use the (default) timeout
of 60 seconds. Provide a new method which also accepts a timeout parameter in milliseconds.
TestMasterTransitions is happy. Running tests locally on trunk and 0.94. Patch available pending

> Key: HBASE-8226
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-8226
> Project: HBase
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: test
> Affects Versions: 0.95.0, 0.96.0, 0.94.7
> Reporter: Andrew Purtell

> Attachments: 8226-branch-0.94.patch, 8226.patch
> HBaseTestingUtility#waitUntilAllRegionsAssigned does not check if the region it is counting
belongs to the table created by the test and will not return if it accidentally counts "too
many" regions, for example the regions of the ACL table when security is enabled.
> Made an attempt at fixing this as part of HBASE-8209 but broke TestMasterTransitions.
